African black soap is an all-natural soap hand-crafted in Western Africa. Black soap is generally made from locally harvested African plants such as plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves and shea tree bark. The ingredients are sun-dried and roasted, which is how it gets its deep color. Water and oils such as coconut, palm and shea butter are then added.
Raw Black Soap has long been used to heal problem skin. It's good for thinning fine lines, evening out dark spots, eczema, razor bumps and eliminating blemishes. Most black soap is made with a blend of plantain skin, cocoa pod powder, tropical honey, and virgin coconut oil.
